Creating Original Art for Designer Sam Ide
During the fifteen plus years Sam Ide has been working with our partner shop, Prints Unlimited, she’s depended on them for custom framing expertise to help elaborate on her own creative ideas. Having recently worked on her first project with Artmill, we upheld that expectation while helping her expand her art resources. It all started with a single idea of an image.
“I saw these girls on Instagram who paint large, detailed, canvases of diamonds with different facets.” Sam was intent to adapt this concept for art in her home. “I thought to myself, what if we took an image of a diamond and enlarged it really, really big?”
Sam owned an existing vintage frame, mat, and high-end art glass that she intended to use for the right project. We not only assisted with finding her desired image of a large diamond, but also provided image manipulation, printing, and mounting. “Wanted to come up with something that would look really stellar in it.”
While blown up, the quality of the print allows distinct facets of the gem and enhanced yellow and blue hues lend to the idea of what it is. “I love how graphic it is. It’s so awesome!”
